| What Is Microdermabrasion? Simply put, it will wear away a small amount of skin. It is a type of "sand blasting" of the skin to remove the top layers that are already dead. Many say it feels like a big cat licking their face. The process of cell renewal (exfoliation) is a natural process that slows with age. Uniform removal of the superficial dead cells thickens the epidermis, increases the production of new cells, and encourages the production of collagen and elastin. How does it work? Crystals are projected onto the skin in a safe and uniform manner to painlessly exfoliate layers of the epidermis. These crystals, along with dead skin cells, are vacuumed into a closed, sealed filter where it is contained and safely discarded. A control gauge allows for increased vacuum for a more aggressive peel and decreased vacuum for a gentler peel. What are normal results? Microdermabrasion leaves your skin smooth and clean with a slight redness that fades quickly. Blackheads are loosened, whiteheads become unsurfaced and hyperpigmentation lightens. Acne scars, enlarged pores and epidermal wrinkles become less prominent. Acne clears up as oily skin is exfoliated and pores are allowed to "breathe". Your skin immediately feels softer and you have a beautiful glow that last for days. Are there any adverse reactions? 99% of all customers will have no adverse reaction at all and in fact, have highly positive immediate results, as well as long-term high satisfaction. Worse case scenario: Your skin may be slightly red and sensitive for an hour or two. In rare cases, you may swell slightly or have some streaking. Overly sensitive skin should try a sensitivity test first. There are no long term adverse concerns... How much time does it take? About 45 min. Do I only need one treatment? No - Although you will love how you look after one treatment, a series of 6-8 treatments is recommended to get the best results. More may be required for difficult problems. Monthly maintenance after a series is recommended What is the cost? Call around and you will see that most Spas, Salons, and Doctors offices charge anywhere from $100-$200 a treatment. THIS SERVICE AT MY SALON WILL ONLY COST YOU $55 SKIN FACTS THE BEAUTY CLOCK Ever stand inches away from the mirror, closely examining your face because you're sure you see a wrinkle that was not there yesterday? Well, time does not march on quite that fast. In fact, time is not your skin's greatest enemy. The natural aging process gets lot's of help from: SUN EXPOSURE CIGARETTE SMOKE (inhaled or secondhand) ENVIRONMENTAL TOXINS A NUTRITON-POOR DIET, especially one lacking in the vitamins A,C,E, and folic acid yet high in fat and salt EXCESS ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION STRESS HARSH SOAPS OR DETERGENT-BASED MOISTURIZERS SLEEP DEPRIVATION CHANGES TO EXPECT AS TIME GOES BY! DRYNESS The skin's oil glands reduce their production around the age of 30, and the loss continues on from there. SUN DAMAGE/LOSS OF SKIN TONE Melanocytes begin to burn out when you reach your late thirties and forties, reducing the skin's ability to fight sun damage and often causing uneven pigmentation. THINNING At around 40, the dermis and the skin's fat layer begin to thin. The process picks up steam after your 50th b-day. That's when we sadly start seeing, sagging and loss of that plump, youthful softness. Also, the loss of fat layer causes the skin to be more fragile and more likely to abrade. LOSS OF FIRMNESS In the dermis, cells called fibroblast constantly replenish our skin's supply of collagen and elastin. Fibroblasts lose their ability to function over the years, resulting in the reduction of collagen and elastin. Diminished Immune Response The skin is home to Langerhan's cell receptors for the immune system that register the presence of foreign agents and toxins. Without them, you are less likely to get a quick warning signal when you come in contact with irritants. Reduced Ability To Repair Damage Overall the body loses its ability to repair free-radical damage, so changes in the cells become more pronounced accelerating aging Loss Of Temperature Control Sweat glands also slowly lose their ability to function, which makes it harder for your body to regulate itself and register heat and cold. WHAT IS A FREE-RADICAL? In a nutshell: Free radicals are oxygen molecules that have lost an electron in interaction with other molecules. As a result, these molecules are extremely unstable, or reactive. In their quest to "heal" themselves, free radicals steal electrons from other, healthy molecules, creating more free radicals in the process. Every time free radicals seek to stabilize themselves, they damage healthy cells. Laboratory research reveals that inflammation at the cellular level, (caused by free-radicals!!) precipitated by poor nutrition, pollution, sunlight, irritating skin-care treatments and stress, are the single most powerful cause of the signs of aging. Most people believe that the sags, bags, and wrinkles on their face and body are inevitable. Some might choose to temporarily circumvent these signs of aging with surgery, botox or even laser treatments. The good news is that research has proven that the real source of health and beauty lies in the inner layers of the skin where cells develop and are nourished by the bloodstream. It's the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients you consume every day that give your skin a healthy glow and keeps it free from developing various conditions like Acne, Rosacea, Eczema, Seborrhea, Psoriasis, and even Skin Cancer! With Microdermabrasion, I can give you back a more youthful and healthy look. You'll go away very happy and content with your new look! But, unless your willing to work on the inside where the nourishing and healing of cells began All Could Be In Vain, and the damage you cause from unhealthy living will surly show it's signs of aging again... why not make the choice today to start the repair from within, where you will see long term results that will give you beauty everlasting!! |
